Costume:
Due to the fact that we changed our idea entirely, only keeping a few of the elements which we initially discussed, we have had to cast new members due to the fact that we have created new characters. As a group, we collectively decided which costumes we thought would best suit the characters regarding the given circumstances. Having created new characters, we have had to ensure that we found costumes to fit their characters so that the audience can immediately recognise their class, status, power and could relate to their characters.
Woman:
The character of the 'woman' will be played by an A2 student. We chose her due to her mature look and her good acting skills. We felt that if we chose the right costume for her, she could effectively play the role of an older woman in early/mid twenties. We need the actress to look fit, healthy and intelligent. Her profession, is evidently one of power and authority and we will represent this through her smart clothes, hair and make up.
Blouse:
We chose a classic yet simple blouse to give the character a smart and mature look. We also chose the colour white which will contrast nicely with the dark coloured clothing of the burglar. The actress playing the woman already has a white blouse therefore we will not need to purchase one.
Black Work Trousers:
Again, we have chosen plain black work trousers to add to the smartness of her look. We don't want her costume to take away from the main focus of the thriller, therefore, we have chosen a plain and simple look. We will need to purchase work trousers because nobody within the production team has a pair.
Man – Burglar
We decided to dress our male character in Timberland shoes because we wanted sophisticated yet practical. We chose the colour blue because we wanted a colour which would blend into his costume to make his appearance more subtle. Fortunately our male actor already has a pair of navy blue timberlands which means that we will not be required to buy a pair.
We have decided that we would like the male character to be dressed in black combat trousers to make him look more practical and active. Again, we think that it would be a good idea to dress him in black because due to the nature of his actions, he will need to look discreet and subtle. Our actor has black trousers so we won't need to buy any.
Black long sleeved jumper/top:
We chose for this simple, black, long sleeved top to be worn by our male character because we felt as though it looked appropriate and is still smart and practical like the rest of his uniform. The characters profession requires him to be active and we felt that this top would be suitable for action. We will buy this from a local shop on the high street such as Topshop or H&M.
