Ollie Allgrove came to talk to our class to give us advice on the process of making a music video and how different roles in the industry work together to produce something. Ollie Allgrove is an executive producer for an independent company called 'Passion Pictures'. Passion pictures makes film,TV and adverts. Ollie talked to us about the collaboration between the director and the artist and how ideas are discussed between different people in charge of different things so they can fit the brief and come up with the best idea under there budget producing the best result they can that will hopefully make as much money as possible.
Ollie talked a lot about the way the media industry try and please there target audience by selling the story for there artist. As music videos are different to films you have to keep the audience engaged at every moment, so using contrast as a device is a popular way of keeping the audience interested.
The shoot should be when everything has been thought about and solved and there are no unanswered questions otherwise problems will occur on the day to waste time and money.
The edit- the lip sync needs to be planned before and make sure it matches section sin the song and mot importantly things can not just be fixed in post production, it is just another layer to make the material you already have work together better.
